7 Ways to Advertise Your Business for Free

Picture

Free directories: Can be perfect for customers searching particular topics. What’s really great about free directories is you post once and there is little need to update for long periods of time.  This will save you time on resubmitting and updating your information weekly or monthly. The downside, this is not a large traffic generator, but if you are on a tight budget or have no budget it’s worth getting your link out there. Take a day and set aside about an hour just posting to free directories. For at least 6 months you won’t need to worry about posting again.

Classified Ads: Are idea for work-from-home businesses. Think about this… When individuals are looking for jobs where do they go? That’s right, the classifieds. Unlike free directories classified ads need to be resubmitted very frequently. You will need to weed through many ad locations, after you find the classifieds that bring in traffic, concentrate on them. In the beginning this can be very time consuming until you get the hang of it. To save you time make a list of all the sites you have submitted to and as you see the performance, or lack of, you can keep them and cross them off your list. This can also help you identify websites you have considered in the past and what happen during that time.

Free article submissions/ezines: Writing an article can be a great way to introduce your product or services to your potential market. This is an invaluable tool in your toolbox. Your article will tell readers about you, lead them to where they can learn more and purchase. Use this as a free way to get links back to your website, to your website if you have one. If you don’t visit Arvixe. With so many webmasters looking for worthy articles to post on their site; if they post yours here is another site doing free advertising for you.

URL Submissions: Maybe the fastest and easiest way to advertise your site. It’s as simple as going to your search engine and just typing “free URL submission”. Select a listing, enter the URL to your product/service and click submit. That’s it. It takes just a few seconds and you’re done. Maintenance is as easy as setting aside one every 3 months to make new submissions.

Forum Posts: When signing up on some forums, by adding your product or service website to your signature it will be displayed when you are posting. You will be looking to post on topics relevant and appropriate to your product/services. The idea is to add value to the conversation while exposing your value and contact information to potential customers. This is not the place to spam. Please know the forum moderator will kick you off the forum, you can even be banned or blacklisted; but you will surely get a bad reputation. You can get involved by asking questions and giving valuable information related to your area of business. When participating in forums is beneficial to growing your visibility because once a post is made it stays forever. Even when topics are moved to the archive this quality information can still be searched and found.

Traffic Exchanges: This is form of free advertising is probably the most time consuming, but is absolutely the most effective. In the many forums I have visited, members said much of the profit they received came from traffic exchanges. If you don’t want to spend the time surfing for credits, you do have the option of buying them. I would look into a program that lets you surf multiple websites at once like crazy browser. There are others that are also free to download. This way just spending about an hour a day you can get a lot of your surfing done at once. Here’s more help if you are looking to grow your traffic.

News-groups: Becoming active in a group where your type of business is the focus. Here you can mail to the group once a day, so I would strongly encourage sharing fresh content each day. Readers will have no issues with tuning you out if you are sending the same information all the time. Again, remember, never spam anyone. Only join groups that share your interests. In other words, if you are selling sneakers don’t sign up for a jewelry making group.
Here’s to using free resources to building your business.

Don’t abuse it because it’s free. Time is priceless.

Me a Product?! - Career Marketing 101

Picture

A job search seems to have many hurdles to overcome – resume, interview technique, appearance, and networking are challenges that job seekers face. These hurdles are surmountable with a strong job search plan and dedicated execution. Job seekers need to apply traditional advertising and marketing methods to their job search to achieve results. By thinking of themselves as the “product” and the employer as the “buyer” job seekers can approach their career transitions from a sales aspect.

Market Analysis

Most job seekers have no clear concept of their target market, the conditions of the market, and the types of employers whom would hire them. They need to conduct a market analysis similar to what most business owners have developed as part of a business plan. The business owner must conduct some sort of market analysis to determine to whom they are going to be selling their products or services, to create a profile of their target customer, to describe their competition, and to find out the conditions of the current market. Job seekers should go through the same process.

Job seekers should educate themselves on the conditions of the employment and economic markets in their targeted geographic area. Research companies in either the industry or area to create a profile that includes financial conditions, past activities, names of executives, products, services, financial forecasts, etc. for each potential company. By doing this, job seekers get a good picture of their target “buyer” – who they are, what they do, how much money they can spend, and if they are planning on being around for some years.

Scoping out the competition is also important for job seekers. The market is flooded with very qualified, highly experienced professionals who are offering “buyers” (employers) skills and knowledge that are all very similar. Job seekers need to find out what kind of competition they face – what they are offering employers, what salaries they are seeking, what benefits they are seeking, and what type of skills/experience combinations they are offering. One method, contact three target companies and ask what skills/experience the employees they’ve hired in the past six months possess. Talk with executive recruiters to find out what they see in the market and what they expect the conditions to be in the next six months.

Pricing (salary) is important in a market analysis. Salary levels can be researched through most recent job advertisements, Salary.com, major job boards, and Bureau of Labor Statistics. In the time of a buyers’ market, prices go down; therefore, salaries are also going down. Salaries have fallen from a high in 2000 to levels last seen in 1998 and are continuing to slide. Many job seekers price themselves out of the market because they don’t know the current value of their skills. Job seekers who find out what salaries to expect and market their skills with that salary in mind helping them receive better job search results.

Target Your Market - Be Specific

Location, buying power, motivation, industry – all are aspects of a target market. If the head elf gets downsized because it’s economical to contract out to Taiwan, Mr. Elf has limited career opportunities at the North Pole. Toys are made overseas and in the US, not at the North Pole. He can look for work making toys all he wants at the North Pole, if there are no toy making jobs, there are no toy making jobs. Location, location, location is a major feature in a job search.

Buying power, a company’s expression of financial ability to make purchases and hire talent, is conveyed through stock prices, annual reports, growth forecasts, quarterly reports, and company spending. A company in a steady growth mode can meet payroll, being less likely to have layoffs. Uncovering the buying power or financial status of target employers is critical to a fruitful job search. Many people have not taken the time to completed this research. Many job seekers just accept a position only to find themselves laid off again in a few short months.

Career Branding – Know Your USP

In the employment industry “career branding” is a hot term. Ok, career branding is intentionally developing and focusing on creating an impressive reputation in your career; then leveraging that reputation to advance and shape your career. Branding is a promise of a specific/consistent experience. When you see a Pepsi advertisement instantly you think of enjoying a cool and refreshing beverage. Over the years Pepsi has diligently worked to establish their brand. Job seekers can use this model in their career; develop marketable skills, record achievements, and create a respectable reputation within their industry.

Direct Marketing

When conducting a job search direct marketing is when your message directly reaches the buyer - getting your resume nonstop to the decision-maker. This is a difficult task for most job seekers. How do you recognize the decision-maker? One method job seekers have turned to are resume blasting services. These services send the job seekers resume to databases filled with recruiters, hiring managers, and other contacts in hiring positions. Like in traditional business the hiring manager may purchase mailing lists and job seekers can pay a resume blasting service to send their resumes to similar databases. Direct marketing has around a 1-2% response rate. Resume blasts are relatively inexpensive and tend to have comparable results, another tool to add to your job search plan.

To target specific industries, companies, or other specific parameters think through hiring a research company. For the serious job seeker with limited time or ability to conduct a serious data mining effort for contact information, this career search investment can pay off.
These companies can gather very specific information. Some being directly connected to decision-makers, with fees that are significantly higher than resume blasting services.

Print Advertising

Career print advertising contains a mix of: cover letter, resume, biography, portfolio, work or writing samples, and supporting relevant project details. Many job seekers believe a self-written cover letter and resume are fine, but most big companies rarely produce their own printed advertising in-house. As product and service providers they focus on what they do best – providing goods and services; while outsource their advertising to experts in the field. In recent years hiring professional resume writers and career coaches have grown in popularity, especially those job seekers intent on career success. These professionals are becoming popular because they assist career seekers in organizing, focusing, and streamlining the career search process leasing to a more effectively marketing their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Word of Mouth Advertising

Word of mouth advertising simply put is networking. When someone tells someone else why they like or the value of “buying” a “product”. Any business owner can tell you, word of mouth advertising is the most effective, longest-lasting and least expensive form of advertising. Unfortunately, many job seekers use this technique the least because it makes them uncomfortable and seems too difficult. Investing in a knowledgeable career coach can be invaluable; educating job seekers of proper networking etiquette and helping them manage their fears of talking to others regarding their careers.

Set Your Online Marketing on Fire - 13 Blazing Internet Marketing Tips!

Picture

You need an effective marketing plan to build an income on the internet.

So here are some of the best marketing tips to turn your website into a powerful magnet intended for traffic and sales.

1. Write Articles
Writing articles on your industry is an excellent way to promote and build your brand as an expert and boost traffic to your website.

Even if you are not great at writing yet. Take a look at articles of professionals you follow on social media or email newsletters, to get ideas… don't steal them. Notice the presentation of the information, format, and styles. Don’t forget to insert your contact information and website link at the end of each article.

So if you are having trouble coming up with topics, just write about the subject you know best. Speak from your first-hand knowledge or experience.
Accepts article submission: e-zine or an article directory like Article City.

2. Create a Free Online Forum
You can start a forum on any topic your target audience is most interested in. Online Business, Marketing on a Budget, and Joint Ventures are some of the possible topics. As people join the forum, they should first need to come to your site and log in from there if they want to post to the forum.

3. Banner Advertising
You may already know about pay-per-click search engines. Have you heard of purchasing guaranteed banner click-thru's? Hundreds of sites offer this service, but not many business owners know much about this service.

Look at sites you follow and cater to your target audience, get their advertising rates. Look at sites that sell banner impressions to get information on their pay-per-click performance advertising.

4. Search Engine Optimization
The number one method to drive website traffic is search engines optimization (SEO). When searching the internet, search engines are the fastest way people locate relevant information they are seeking. Each search engine develops and maintains its own enormous database of websites a user can search by typing in a keyword or phrase in the search box.

SEO is studying a search engine to determine how to move your website higher in the rankings in user searches. Some statistical information has search engines accounting for over 80% of visitor traffic to websites.

5. Blogging
Blogs are a popular and multidimensional way to publish and share your content on the Internet. Blogger are allowed and encouraged to publish new and interesting content. Clients that hire Bloggers expect original content with quick turn-around times. Since there is regular new content being created search engines love indexing these sites - search engines love them and you should too.

6. Mailing List
A mailing list can do wonders for a website. You can not only market to and keep in touch with past visitors inviting them back, if they like your newsletter they will share it with their friends. This is ideal for you. Capturing leads and selling products is the only real purpose of a consumer website. Leads meaning, e-mail addresses.

Start developing and grow a customer list and keep in frequent, no more than 2 or 3 times a week – depending on the industry, and then work it repeatedly. Monthly send a monthly e-zine or newsletter that offers valuable information. Take this time to introduce and show them similar products they were interested in. Gifts can also be purchased because they see something a friend would love to have. Or a supplier can offer it to their client as an alternative.

7. FREE Offer
Free downloads and e-books are good ways to bring visitor and keep them at your site. Your visitors would like to receive free offers. Attract your target audience with irresistible freebies and keep them coming back for more.

8) Link Exchange
Link exchanging is a remarkable method for driving website traffic and moving up in the search engine ranking. Search engines are eager to acquire new links with fresh information. Spend time exchanging as many links as possible. Link with websites related to your site and your target audience.

9. Postcard
A simple and low-cost postcard is a valuable internet marketing tool. Use this technique to produce a wave of website traffic, for a sale, or a flood of high-quality leads. To build your mailing list.

10. Market Statistic
A method to find out what your customers like and what you can improve on, introduce features on your website like; online surveys and visitor polls as a method to also to drive traffic to your site. Encourage social sharing.

11. FREE Advertising
On the internet there’s no shortage of FREE Advertising. There are - Classified Ads, Newsgroups, Ezine, Free for All Pages (FFA), Article Submission sites and many more.

12. Pay-Per-Click (PPC)
Traffic is good, but sales are better. If you are looking for a great way to get targeted traffic, look at pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. What could be better? Pay-Per-Sale Advertising - a superior option. With pay-per-click ads - you may not make sales, but you pay for those clicks.
There’s very little to no risk with a pay-per-sale program, you only pay for sales made. Joint Ventures (JV) and affiliate marketing programs are good examples. Look for deals that offer a program where you only pay for each sale.

13. Real Syndicated Content (RSS)
RSS is a great way to gain more traffic and rank higher on search engines from unique websites with RSS. Here are some ways to use RSS: deliver internet articles, emails, e-zines, customer support responses, advertisements, attract potential clients.

To get started pick one area to focus on. There will be one area that will speak to you the most. Try it and if it doesn’t go as planned – re-plan and start over or select a new focus from this list. Don’t give up on that technique, look for a product, service, or professional to assist you learning to master that skill.

5 Easy Ways to Light Your Creative Fire

Picture

Writing an article isn’t just about putting down your thoughts into words. The point is to capture the attention of your readers and keep them reading. For your message to be received you not only have to keep them interested, but pique their curiosity.

To bake a hot article, the main ingredient is a generous dose of creativity. While creativity comes natural to some people, others suffer from mental block and just can’t seem to get started. It’s been said writers have literally torn their own hair out when they got writers block. Print this article and keep it with your writing journal so you aren’t tempted to pull your hair out. Here’s how to get your creative juices flowing.

To put your word images into the mind of your reader is an art. A crystal clear description involves a certain flair only creativity provides. Symbols and comparisons are useful, but the way an article flows from word to word, sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph smoothly transitioning into the complete essence.

So just what do you when nothing comes to mind? There’s no magic formula to coming up with the perfect idea, but there are simple ways to start your creative juices flowing. There is no guarantee you will get into that perfect writing groove, but there are methods you can use to help you achieve that flow of mind. Try these five easy ways to see which method fits you best.

1) Keep a writing journal with you at all times. Ideas come and go. Some ideas can be triggered by something you see, hear, or smell. Tap into your senses they are great radars to helping you find great ideas. As ideas come to you write them in your journal for future reference. Keep notes on anything you hear or read, you can find inspiration from others – you can use them to help cultivate your own ideas – no, this is not stealing. Remember inspiration can spark creativity and ideas at any time; you make it unique by putting “you” on it.

2) Relax and develop an actionable plan. A cluttered and unorganized mind has no space to create new ideas. You have to have a clear mind to tap into your inner creativity. Clear a slot of time on your calendar when your mind is at its best. Some people are most creative when they are just getting their day started. Others are night owls and work better during the wee hours of the morning. This is where to begin to develop your plan. Take care of all pressing obligations, obstacles, anything that can hinder your creativity.

Don’t forget to take time out for you. Relax … that goes in your plan too. Make a special effort to smile more and have more pleasant interactions with others. Your experiences also play a role in shaping your mindset and your outlooks which can come out in your writings. Have fun learning you, discover yourself. Understand what generates your emotions. Notice what inspires you and what drives you crazy. Use these emotions to help you express yourself and your thoughts, just let your creativity grow.

3)Your environment should be a place that inspires you. Create a place that makes you feel happy and relaxed. If you know noise is a hindrance wait until you are able to hear your thoughts. Creativity comes when you are in a relaxed state of mind. Remove all clutter and create organizational system that works for you.

Create a working space that inspires you to generate ideas about the topic you are focusing on. You can also include items that give you warm thoughts, happy feelings, or soothing. Maybe put up some pictures or art, or aromatherapy, objects of encouragement, or anything you like that will put you in your best place and start your creative juices flowing. A clean and well organized workplace also rids of distractions and unwanted hindrances. With a good working place, you can work in peace and never notice the time pass by.

4) Set a creative mood. Just go with the moment and learn how to just go with your thoughts. When you are preparing to write and you are looking for inspiration, try something like: What do you like to do for relaxation? What topic do you know like the back of your hand? What was your favorite subject in school? Do you have an opinion on dating and relationships? Or subject you are learning – write about your experience learning. Use what interests you to give you a starting place to start your creative juices flowing. Once you find your tempo and get in your groove, everything else will fall into place.

There are no limits to ways you can set the mood. Some writers choose alcohol, sipping wine to stir the imagination. Others like mood music and some let the illumination of the environment set the right mood.

5) Vacation or just have fun. Relaxing time away or a fun day out on the town, have a new adventure, let yourself go. Get your adrenaline pumping let your imagination go wild. Find something unusual and different, something you always wanted to do. You will be surprised how your creative mind will take hold of that experience and your imagination will to go into overdrive.

6 Daily Items to Explosive Business Growth

http://pballc.weebly.com/blog/6-daily-items-to-explosive-business-growth

As a business owner time is very limited. Constant demands on your time and being pulled in so many directions, but here are six easy items you can do on a daily business to stay focused and grow your business.

  • Take time to create videos. Creating videos can be a great way to gain more eyes for your business, only if they are in line with your business goals. The videos don’t have to be long, but make sure they are focused on one topic at a time; you don’t want to confuse your audience. Save time and film more than one video at a time.
  • Take 30 minutes to 1 hour a day to engage in online conversations with social media contacts. Make sure when commenting that you are providing quality and useful information on topic. The point is to add value and to showcase your knowledge. NOTE: Don’t try and steal the post if it is not on your page.
  • Repurpose your marketing copy. You took the time to prepare it let it work for you. When updating, editing or chopping up your copy it should still reflect attraction-based marketing principals.
  • Design blog posts that are informative, timely, educational, engaging, fun, thought provoking, interesting and memorable. Each post should have a combination of these elements. Take time every day to create blog content for your site or as a guest blogger. Prepare more than one post during your writing time. Decide how often you are going to post, stick to it and be consistent.
  • Be a life-long learner. Make time to educate yourself by reading books, online articles, blog posts, and watching videos related to your field. While you are learning online if you have information of value to add leave a comment. Attending seminars, workshops and training classes can also be a great source of information to add to your arsenal and is a great place to network with other professionals.
  • Take about 20 minutes a day to learn about new systems and programs that can assist in automating and increase your productivity in completing tasks. There are many free and low cost time saving programs online that once implemented properly can be a time saver.

Remember, time is your most precious commodity; take some of it to enjoy yourself. Smile, laugh, and be happy. Times are going to be hard during this journey and you are going to need that free time to look forward to. A Staycation, home on the sofa with a good book, or just catching up on housework and sleep, you are going to need that you time. So try and automate and delegate, to an Administrative Assistant if and when possible. Don’t worry this seems like a lot, but you can do it!

~ Here’s to growing through the pain.

3 Pain Free Ways to Get Instant Traffic

Picture

In previous articles we covered methods to increase your website traffic. But there are special occasions you may need to increase your traffic quickly like, a boost in views to promote a new product or service. You may be looking to implement your viral marketing plan with a deeply discounted offer. Let’s cover 3 easy ways to accomplish getting that needed visibility.

Use resources available to you:

Start with your email list. If you have a budget, you can also buy targeted traffic or start a Joint Venture (JV).

Google, or an alternative like Yahoo’s Overture, is a great place to buy fast and immediate traffic. Google AdWords is a go-to tool for generating web traffic. If you need help on AdWords, you can visit our post: AdWords 101 – Getting You Up and Running. For the more advanced users there are excellent eBooks on to have on hand as a desktop reference book. They cover the topic in different ways, including topics like how to avoid having your ad deactivated. Having a guide and a plan will save you a lot of lot time and wasted money. This is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. You set a daily budget for your campaign, when someone clicks on your link, your account is charged. When anyone searches your keyword, your ad can be seen on the right side of the page.

Be sure to track your campaign.

Here’s how to track your campaign. Say you purchase 3 ad space with 3 different advertising sources, pay the same price for all 3, then use the tracking software the advertisers give you to see which source is providing more results.

Finding out early where to spend your money to get to the best results will save you time and money.

Use your email list. This is where your understanding of the sales processes comes. Really quick, a visitor is surfing the net and lands on your site, chances are almost certain they won' t be coming back unless you offer an incentive, latest newsletter, or something to bring them back:

You can start by sending promotional emails, twice a month and valuable information, industry trends, between your promotional offers.

The last tip is Joint Venture (JV).

Get other websites to send your message to their email list. You place your ad on their website, and pay them only when they close a sale. The split is a high as 50% or more. So to make this work for you know the value of the sale. Know what the price of sale should be factoring in the split. Make it easy for them to sell. Do the work for them, have a professionally prepared emails for them including the subject and body, set up the affiliate link they will use on their websites, and any other marketing collateral they can use. As much as possible, give them choices.

This is also a good way to network and find some new friends.

Behaviors for a More Fulfilling and Well-Rounded Life, Part 4

Picture

In the first part of the series some of the topics we talked about were ways to have better relationships with others, being a good citizen, and giving back to others. I saved the best for last, the last in this series is all about you. A more fulfilling and well-rounded life wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t take care of ourselves.

I mean pamper yourself. Sleep late one day. Stay up and watch that movie with your spouse. Spend that money and get those new shoes. Don’t feel guilty about doing what makes you happy. If you don’t, who will? I am a firm believer in treating myself to life’s pleasures that interest me. My hard work was not meant to solely pay bills. How many people have you heard say that?

Now this does not mean irresponsible and go overboard. This is not meant to increase your debt. Sometimes you will have to save over a period of time to enjoy your treat. Delayed gratification is just as sweet.

Our final topics are going to cover ways to enjoy your you time.

1. Try New Foods:
To enjoy a really good meal is one of life’s joys. Whatever your style of cuisine, food is a language we all speak. Eating the same old food can be uninspiring and boring. Some people think but cutting out certain foods it will help them loose weight more easily. While I am no medical professional and if you know because of your health or any other reason indulge in food in moderation.

Come on be a person that tries new foods your taste buds may enjoy. There is an unlimited variety of food and also good for your metabolism. You can choose some Chinese, Thai or any other food you like to eat throughout the whole month as this helps in gaining new minerals and vitamins in the body which we were losing out fast due to our habit of eating a single type of food. Though eating out daily can be very heavy for your pockets and you may lose out your budget soon. Instead, you should try to dine out once in a week with family and friends to experience something new and interesting.

2. Turn Your Phone Off:
When you are going forward to sleep, attending an important meeting, driving your car on a busy highway, spending time with your family or when focusing on something very important at work; then you don’t want your phone to disturb you at all. Smart phones are now everywhere, which are pre-loaded with application that connects not only through calls and messaging, but also by means of email, social media, what’s up and the list goes on. All this will keep us distracted from other important things on which we need to focus on more. So, instead of switching your smart phone off you can make it silent. In this way you will be aware of any emergency calls or notification that needs your attention.

3. Eat Clean and Exercise Daily:
Though this is present on everyone’s list of New Year Resolution but almost no one is able to accomplish it at all. There are few good reasons behind it that includes not paying attention to your eating habits and also not focusing on exercise properly. Also, eating unhealthy food all the time causes your body to be filled up with the toxins that become a hurdle between doing exercise regularly on a daily basis. So, get rid of eating unhealthy food and also schedule a proper time to exercise daily in the morning. Remember try to make a realistic plan on paper which is applied in real time and don’t try to be optimistic at all while designing a plan to exercise and eating healthy. If possible, then reach out to a good nutritionist and a gym instructor to guide you better.

4. Disappointments and Trials are Part of Life:
Life is not a bed of roses. There are challenges in everyone’s life that assist them to grow steadily. Each experience helps us to become stronger and more resilient human beings. Instead of thinking out ways to change the order of life which is not our hands; try to go with the currents and trust God that he will never let you down and it’s all part of a bigger plan that will produce a healthy result.

I'm glad you stayed with me through this series of Behaviors for a More Fulfilling and Well-Rounded Life. I hope you found value in these articles of value and useful. If you liked it ... pass it on. Look at some of the treats below, just for you. Enjoy!
